Xenesis v0.93 Beta Posted by Wraggster at 15:32 PM
Carcharius has released a new version of his port of Gens the Genesis/Sega CD/32x emulator to the Xbox, heres whats new in this release:
Xenesis 0.93 Beta - Latest Revision - New options on the Sound menu which should help fix sound issues with some games. YM2612 Improv - enable or disable improved YM2612 emulation DAC Improv - enable or disable improved digital audio emulation PSG Improv - enable or disable improved PSG emulation
These are all options that are present in the windows version of Gens but until now haven't been active in Xenesis. By default they are all set to On (they were defaulted to On in all previous versions of Xenesis too)
I have had reports that the sound in some games hasn't sounded quite right and I believe these options will help to put that right.
An example (and the one that I have received most reports about) is the sound made when Sonic jumps. Turning off PSG Improv makes this sound more like that produced by other emulators (I haven't had the chance to dig my Megadrive out and see how it sounds compared to the original yet).
Now that this is done I want to spend the time (that I mentioned previously) working on the new features and tightening up my code with the aim of eventually getting this thing out of Beta! ;)
Download available on #xboxemu irc.relic.net
I have made a page with all info so far from this great port On This Page

N64 Emu Coding Contest - PJ64 Port Update Posted by Wraggster at 1:33 AM
Iriez one of the main people co-ordinating the Xbox N64 Coding Contest has posted this update concerning a port of Project64 that he himself has been beta testing for an unknown coder.
Just to let everyone know, NO, i have not forgotten about this thread or the contest. The author has been spending all his availible time optimizing the code to allow more free memory.
To answer the first and formost question,
NO, zelda will probably not play in the first beta.
However you might see a few 32mb roms playable. Alot of work is being put into the project, and current progress is going well.
I am moving in 2 days (friday may 30th) on a road trip back to my home in california, so i would not expect any more updates from me. I can assure you all you will have a beta on or before June 9th, as the first goal's deadline requires.
Thanks to everyone who donated to made this happen, and a big no thanks to anyone who bitched whined and moaned about the contest. Simply dont use the beta.
Keep an eye out on the officlal site for the coding contest Here
Ive also made a page with all screenshots of this mysterious port and all news revealed by iriez so far Here

Xenesis v0.91 Beta Posted by Wraggster at 13:18 PM
Carcharius has updated his port of Gens the Genesis, 32x and Sega CD emulator for the Xbox called Xenesis, heres whats new:
- Added better screen stretching support (can now toggle aspect ratio on/off) - Added screen positioning to the screen stretching option (use left thumb stick to position screen. Use X to centre it)
- Added Fast Forward facility to help speed up game intros etc (hold left trigger and push right thumb stick to the right)
- Fixed buggy video mode selection and widescreen support
This release includes a couple of new features and (hopefully) one big problem.
Quite a few people reported problems with their boxes locking when trying to boot the first release. After much scratching of the head I think I tracked it down to some bugs in my video mode and widescreen code. These should now be fixed and hopefully those people that had problems won't have them anymore.
There are still problems with Xenesis and the IGR function of some versions of Evo-X. To be honest I'm not sure what I can do about those other than suggesting trying another version of Evo-X. I will look into it though, but my main focus this past couple of days has been to fix the above issue.
You can download it in the usual place #xboxemu irc.cotse.com
As usual theres no official site so ive made a page with all the info so far and also screenshots HERE

MAMEoX v0.63b Posted by Sin-Tex at 0:28 AM
eabair has released a new ver of MAMEoX.
Changes
Split the ROM listing off into a separate XBE file. This leaves us with some room to make major interface improvements (beautifications) without affecting the MAME core. More importantly, this insulates us from any memory leaks in the MAME core (when some ROMs ran out of memory during bootup, they wouldn't release everything back to the system, which kept other ROMs from running).
Other changes are fairly minor: cheats are (theoretically) enabled, by request :) Sound popping may be slightly improved, there are still buffer underruns, but I kludged it by clearing ahead 1 frame's worth of samples to 0 so its at least not old data.

Happy Mother's Day from XPort? Posted by XDelusion at 18:02 PM
Apparently Xport wants you to be his mother, so here is his gift a PCSXBox v1, enjoy! :)
- Emulates Playstation - Memory Card manager (select from 10 memory cards) - Save states (LTRIGGER+BLACK and LTRIGGER+WHITE) - Cheat code searching - Gameshark code-compatible - Gameshark cheat code database with codes for over 1700 games - Remappable PSX buttons - Throttle/speed-up - Supports BIN files or GZIP'd BIN files. (GZIP is not the same as ZIP) - Background - Thanks to CandyISO for the background image - True Type Font - Thanks to CandyISO for this PSX font - MP3 support - XPort's Configurable PlayThing
This version does not support real CDs. There are a different set of technical hurdles involved with PSX cds than with SegaCD and PCE CD/SCD. I was finally able to get the XBox to read XA sectors, but it reads them much too slowly for anyone to want to play games using it. (Reads about 2.5KB per second) For now, create BIN/CUE's of your PSX games and either copy them to your HD or burn them to DVDR/CDRW. Your BIN and CUE files should have the same names.
When you select the BIN file to load, you will be presented with an options menu. You can start the game using one of two different BIOS methods. Using an actual BIOS file for the emulation is the most compatible, however it's a little slower than HLE. Try both and see which one works best for the game you're playing. [/QUOTE]
