X2.3b Installation Guides
Posted by Sin-Tex at 12:08 PM

News Source: Team X-ecuter

Team X-ecuter have posted some nice looking pictures of the new X2.3b chips. At present only the Lite Version Wire & Header Pin install guides are available with the Lite Plus & Pro to follow shortly.

The X2.3b no longer has a USB Power Adaptor since it has been discovered it is not really needed & has caused problems for some people.
The older X2.3 Lite & Pro chips required 6 wires to be soldered where as the new b version requires 7.

Oh yeah there blue not red.

Flashing Guides will also be made available soon.

BarrysWorld back before it's gone ?
Posted by Sin-Tex at 19:18 PM

News Source: The Register

Earlier today, we asked if online gaming community Barrysworld, now known as Game.net and due to be shut down by parent company Game Plc next month, could once again rise Phoenix-like from the ashes, as it did three years ago. We were doubtful.

And wrong, we're pleased to say. Co-founders Tony and Ben - aka 'TedTheDog' and 'DBs' - have gone back to their roots and founded FreddysHouse, a non-commercial online gaming community in the mould of Barrysworld.

Barrysworld, the UK online gaming community saved from collapse three years ago, will have the plug pulled on 23 January 2004, owner Game Plc announced this week..

Barrysworld was launched in 1997 and was one of the pioneers of the UK online gaming community. It quickly grew from fan site to commercial operation, offering free online gaming paid for by advertising and sponsorship. By the time the money ran out in January 2001 it had over 300,000 players across Europe.

X2.3 Updates
Posted by Sin-Tex at 20:12 PM

News Source: Team X-ecuter

Quote:
First of all apologies for the site being a little screwed this last week. All fixed now.

Thanks for all the feedback on X2.3 Lite - Here's a few answers to some of the questions....

Q. Why does the new ground point have 3 wires.
A. By taking voltage from the USB we needed a stronger GND connection due to longer wires used

Q. The mod is not working
A. That will be a bad ground connection. Make sure the star washer is sitting first and then the adapter (3 wires) and then the ring connection (black wire)

Q. OK I've done that still a bad ground
A. Score the GND adapter gold contact with an exacto knife or whatever - or use another star washer in between the GND adapter and the Ring adapter.

Q. Xbox boots up with orange LED and tray ejects but nothing on screen - wtf ?
A. Your mod is working. You have an Xbox with the new Focus video chip and the Cromwell bios isnt compatible yet. Simply insert your Bios update CD as instructed, Xbox will reboot after about 20 seconds and it will work just fine with your new X2 4979 or Evox M7 bios.

Q. The X2 Lite Programmer doesn't work
A. The old programmer is not compatible. A new version is being released shortly.

Hope this helps a few people out.
End Quote

You can purchase the X-ecuter 2.3 Lite from Xbox-Chipz
