Hikaru has released the source to his WIP N64 port of Daedalus to the Xbox Console, heres all the news from him (translated so may sound strange)
N64 X(b1 Source) - Graphics ??% - Audio ??% - Input 0%.
While having modified the cord/code, it meaning that original structure stops knowing, you try recreating from one. The person who rewrote the graphics of the 0.07b in the DX8 so speed, to having the Nintendo Co. 64 emulator for the Xbox which has already moved, to going to there hardship.

Hikaru has released a Debug version of his N64 emu for the Xbox, heres what he says:

More of a test dev version than anything else but a good sign anyhow.

It seems some people are desperate for a Nintendo 64 Emulator, so much so an official Contest with prize money is in the works.
Currently the Prise Money Stands at almost $1000 & rising, the pot will be broken up into 3 segments.
3 Goals Must be reached to receive the prise money.
GOAL 1:
Initial release: First release will be a 'proof of concept' release. It will play a 8MB cart (such as mario64) with full sound, gfx, controller, and saves. GOAL must be met within 6 Weeks of the contest start, or money pool can be dispensed back to donaters upon request.After proof of concept goal is met, developer will recieve 20% of the contest's money pool.
GOAL 2:
Second release: Will have a 16MB(such as Mario Kart 64) cart working within 3 weeks of completing goal 1, or the rest of the pool will be forfeit. Upon completion 30% of the pool will be given. If Author completes GOAL 1, and cannot meet the GOAL 2 requirement, the Author must release his full sources to the public.
GOAL 3:
Third release: Will have a 32mb(such as zelda64) cart working within 4 weeks of completing goal 2, with the rest of the pot given as final compensation.
DONATIONS Please make all paypal donations to n64@xbins.org . You MUST include N64 CONTEST and your nickname/handle/real name in the header of the paypal donation, as so we can properly credit you. Once donation is recieved and reviewed, your name will be added to the verified donaters list.

Hikaru has been working on a Nintendo 64 emulator for a while now amongst his other ports, in the translated text below he discusses the memory problems of trying to get it working on the Xbox, anyway heres the translated text from his Japanese site (Which because he has XDK downloads on, i will not link to for his and this sites sake)

Xport has done it again and released another emulator to the Xbox, this time its a port of the Atari 2600 emulator Z26, heres the news so far:
- Fully Emulates Atari 2600 - Extra sound channel in games like Pitfall - Plays music in Pitfall 2 - Plays Supercharger games - Paddle sensitivity - Adjust screen size/position during gameplay
The main reason I ported this was to play Supercharger games, which Stella does not do. Z26 is also much more compatible than Stella.

EUROPE GETS NEW GAME RATING SYSTEM
A new pan-European age rating system for computer and video games is to be introduced to help protect kids from unsuitable content.
Known as PEGI (Pan European Game Information), the new system will eventually replace existing age rating systems currently used in European countries.
Each game will feature an age rating (3 and over; 7 and over; 12 and over; 16 and over, and 18 and over) on the front cover of the title plus a brief description of the game's content.
The only exception to the new rating system - introduced by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) - are some minor local variations in Portugal and Finland.
Oh, and Germany won't be using it since will retain its own rating system - 'cos that's the law.
Those behind PEGI - which will be regulated by the industry - hope it will make life easier for parents and adults buying games for kids.

Game Gizmo a company very much like Lik Sang who sell everything from Modchips for the Xbox and PS2 to Flash carts for the Game Boy Advance have shockingly announced that they are to cease trading immediately. The following was an email direct from them.

Xport has released another version of his excellent port of Gens the Genesis/Sega Cd/32X emulator to the Xbox Console, heres whats new
- Reads *real* CDs (originals or CDRWs) - Less sensitive throttle - Remap throttle - Remap Left and Right trigger buttons - Support for placing teamplayer adaptor on port 2 (e.g Columns 3) - Possible improvement for PAL users (not sure though - cannot test) - Possible progressive scan support (also not sure - cannot test)
Press RTHUMB from the main menu to bring up the CD-launching menu.

Xport has released a new version of his excellent port of Gens.
What's New : - 4 Player support (At main menu, press LTHUMB, select Emulator Options, then toggle 4 player setting. Do not use this option on games that do not support 4-players because it will screw up the controls. If you start playing a game and you wonder why your controller isn't working, it's probably because you left 4-player mode on.)
- Delete save files. At main menu, press LTHUMB, then select the option to delete the saved files of the currently selected game.
- Fixed bug in cheat codes that would not let you enter addresses > 0x7FFF
- Selectable CD emulation mode. Press A to start a game using the default CD mode (most compatible) or press the RTHUMB button to start a game using the alternate CD mode.
- Visual description of current video mode when you switch it.
- RANALOG Up/Down/Left/Right controls SFX/MP3 music volume during gameplay (This was actually in the last release, but not mentioned in the NFO.)

Heres all the details

A whole lot has been added, such as new games supported! Here is the latest.
Memory Leak fixed. No more crashes after 30 mins! Thanks for Cheule for testing help. Zipped Roms now work. Place them in the 'roms' directory. Zipfile should be named the same as the directory for roms would be. eg. Dragon's Lair roms = lair.zip Stretch Mode Option - if mpeg is smaller than 720x480, will fill to 720x480. Improved Game Options screen. Added autoscroll to menu screens if holding down dpad. Added Interstellar. Added Thayer's Quest. Added Esh. Not fully tested since I don't have mpegs. Added Badlands. Not fully tested since I don't have mpegs. Fixed VLDP init problem causing games to not start immediatley on subsequent startups.

More bugs squashed, here is what's new.
What's new/fixed: Fixed audio crackling on attract mode with no audio. Hopefully fixed random no audio on game startup. Fixed issue with cpu's not being closed down properly causing a crash if you try to start Bega more than once. Fixed joypads on Astron Belt, Cobra Command, Bega etc. 'Game Issues' screen hooked up.

Hikaru the great Japanese coder who has ported so many emulators so far is now working on a Wonderswan emulator for the Xbox, heres a rough translation via Babelfish of his progress so far.
Re-installation of the OS with just a little it was busy, is, in the past compressing, Xbox edition of the Oswan which it has kept moved. As for this emulator being to use the SDL, the fact that you write the part of sound is troublesomely so, but.

From XPort,"Version 1 of CDDISSECT was including the 2-second pre/post gap data in the MP3 files. This means that there is (probably) 2 seconds of silence at the end of each MP3 track. Most of the time, this is not noticeable, but some games have background music that is meant to sound seamless when it loops back to the beginning. This is why I thought another release was in order".

Lantus the author of amongst many things Xsnes9X has today updated his site with news about his great Snes emulator for the Xbox
And you all thought i was busy with Duke3d. Well, actually i have been working on Duke for the most part but tonight had the urge to work on some xSnes9x.
I've almost finished adding in Samba (SMB) support. This is working really great - it reads any .smc, .fig, .swc and .smc files directly over the network. Zip files of course are supported however, since zlib is used, and i dont have the desire to make changes in the lib, for zips i had to 'cheat' and copy the file to the application swap space and run it from there.
The only other issue with this currently is theres no validation that the file itself is a snes rom - and may subsequently lock up the emulator. I'll need to work something out here but overall its looking very promising.

XPort author of Hugo-X among other emulators for the XBOX, has released a new CD dissecting tool appropriately named CDDissect v1.0 This is a DOS tool written to extract the ISO and Audio tracks from a Turbo GFX 16 CD, Sega CD, or PSX CD, it will also create a CUE sheet and assign file names that are 100% compatable with Hugo-X as well as GensX.

You may of heard rumours or reports on various sites reporting of the Xbox dropping in price to a stunning low amount of £129.99
Here is such two reports: The register mentions the announcement from Microsfot should come this weekend & stores saying the price will drop this friday. The Register Indie reports price drop could be as of today. Indie Magazine
Well i can tell you for a fact that several stores i visited today are already selling the Xbox for £129.99.

He has also released and update to Rise Of The Triad so you can now select Inverted Look as an option, as well as exit the game without crashing your XBOX. And if that is not enough news...
...he says he still plans on a DOOM X update, not to mention a release of Duke Nuke'm on the XBOX soon!

V0.20 - Framefile parser improved. Multiple mpegs now work (DVD-VIDEO rips). Parsing mpegs should work now, and has a progress display (not finished). Changed to 720x480 video mode to support DVD-VIDEO mpegs. Blanks on skips and searches enabled. Revised readme.txt

More improvements to the menu. More games enabled. Who knows what else :)

Well, it's been a verrrrry long time since I've done any developing on the XBox, but I got in the mood again a couple days ago and here is the result - a new version of HU-GO with.....are you ready for this? CD/SCD image emulation!
What's New:
- CD/SCD emulation via ISO/MP3/CUE or BIN/CUE
- Internal MP3 player - play MP3s from the main menu
- Improved sound - I'm *much* happier with it now
- Improved compatibility ( e.g. Bonk's Revenge, GunHead )
- Should play all games just like HU-GO for the PC (actually better!)
- Force US encoding on games that need it
- Holding D-Pad on game menu makes it scroll
- Adjust SFX/MP3 volume in-game by using Right Analog Stick
- "Normal" sized font by default
- Press Left Thumbstick on main menu to bring up configuration screen
- Fully adjustable screen size
- Actually slightly better compatibility than HU-GO v2.10 for Windows
(e.g. Bonk's Revenge and Dracula X work in XBox version)

Things are going good. Kingofc has been contributing source code to Cxbx, including some preliminary support for OpenXDK applications. He has also gotten some 3d vertex rendering working. I am also recieving some much appreciated help from "anonymous" with some kernel emulation, which is going to help the project progress much more quickly.

Rise of the Triad has been ported to the Xbox by a respected author :-) , more info about the game available at the 3D Realms web-site located here (Note: The game was not ported by anybody at 3D Realms, so this means that 3D Realms provides no technical support on the Xbox version and does not provide warranty if any harm is caused by the use of the application).

Pocket Emu have today released 1100 Homebrew (public Domain meaning legal :D)for the GameBoy and Gameboy Colour. They can be used with any GB/GBC emulator. The zips which there are two of at around 22 meg each contain all the best software written by Hobbyist coders.

Basically from what i can make out he is looking into bugs with Nester X and also because of probelms with having both Nes and Snes emulation within Nester X he has now split those emulators up and from now on you will see seperate Nester X releases and the same for Snes9x X, anyway heres the rough translation of what he said courtesy of Babelfish.

Hikaru has released another version of his Xbox Port of the great Megadrive, Mega CD, 32X emulator called Gens. Heres a translation through Babelfish of the news that he has posted with this release.
